Job Position: Multi-Spindle Screw Machine Operator

Location: Machesney Pk, IL 61115

Pay Rate: $18.00/hr

Shift: 1st shift, Mon-Fri, 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Some Sat: 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Description:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Multi-Spindle Screw Machine Operator to join our team in Illinois. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining multi-spindle screw machines to produce precision metal components. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high production quality.

Multi-Spindle Screw Machine Operator Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate multi-spindle screw machines (Acme, Davenport, or similar) according to production specifications.

  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve machine issues, making adjustments as needed to maintain production flow and quality.

  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and job orders.

  • Utilize precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure components meet strict quality standards.

  • Monitor machine operation, detect malfunctions, and make necessary adjustments to optimize output and quality.

  • Maintain accurate production records and complete required documentation.

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.

  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to achieve production goals.

Multi-Spindle Screw Machine Operator Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating Acme, Davenport, or similar multi-spindle screw machines.

  • Proven ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings.

  • Proficient in using micrometers and calipers for precise measurements.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.

  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds occasionally.

  • Comfortable performing repetitive tasks with hands and arms.

  • Good visual acuity for reading blueprints and inspecting small components.
